Each month there are 3 different sessions. The combining of these formats is something I’ve thought deeply about as I’ve asked myself, “what is learning?” in the context of this topic.
Classroom
Critical Engagement
Coaching
Classroom
In these teaching sessions, I’ll be sharing ideas, frames and models from critical theory, developmental psychology and systems thinking to offer scaffolding for our understanding as we deepen into our sense of ‘what’s going on?’ in the relational field. Each classroom session will have a resource on The Portal for you to refer back to.
Critical Engagement
This offering is educational, and the education is not linear or flowing in one direction. We are exploring together, and will all benefit from assessing the merits and limitations of the ideas shared in the classroom sessions. It will also be interesting to note how each of us might meet these ideas from our own context and positionality. My aspiration for these sessions is that we are able to practice disagreement on details amongst people with whom we broadly agree, and develop some relational resilience in doing so.
Coaching
Someone from the group will bring something they’re grappling with- either a ‘real life’ experience, or a concept from our shared discovery. I’ll provide coaching, and invite the group to notice what this is touching on in their own experiences. I believe that (‘good’) relational, developmental coaching is one of few examples of healthy relational dynamics that many people have access to in our society. In my experience, spending time immersed in this ‘culture of conversation’ supports us to re-imagine curious conversations characterised by unconditional positive regard in our own lives.
